Disappointment of Jews who flock to the cities expecting to find emigration facilities awaiting them has led a number of Jewish communities in provincial cities to demand of the Reich Representation of Jews in Germany, central Jewish body, that newspaper publicity on emigration projects be minimized.
Jewish communities complain that they have been besieged with applications from would-be emigrants, particularly since publication of the plan of the British Jewish group headed by Sir Herbert Samuel to expatriate 100,000 Jews to Palestine and other countries.
In asking that the projects be played down in the press, the provincial communities state that exaggerated hopes aroused by publicity lead only to greater disappointment among Jews and undermine normal emigration activities.
