Two hundred and fifty Lewis gunners left for Palestine today to guard railway stations and other key centers, the Jewish Telegraphic Agency learned.
Additional troops numbering 1,600 men were ordered to stand ready to leave for Palestine, but it was not believed they would depart immediately because the situation in the Holy Land has apparently quieted.
