Sir John Simon, Home Secretary, said in the House of Commons today that it would be impossible to ban such organizations as Oswald Mosley’s Blackshirts without new legislation since nothing in the present laws prohibits wearing of uniforms.

His statement was made in reply to a question by O. Locker-Lampson, Conservative, and a demand by F. Montague, Laborito, that the Home Office take steps to forbid private armies such as the Blackshirts.
