Jews of the world were asked today by the chief rabbinate of Tel Aviv and Jaffa to observe July 7 as a day of fast in protest against the murder of Jews and destruction of Jewish property in Palestine.
The rabbinate urges Jews on that day to gather in synagogues and say prayers of atonement and to stress Jewry’s demands for establishment of a Jewish national home in Palestine.
July 7 is the first day of the traditional three-weeks of mourning for the destruction of the temple in Jerusalem.
