Premier Blum Sees Algerian Governor on Moslem Attacks

Algeria’s Governor, Major Le Beau conferred Friday with Premier Blum and the Minister for Home Affairs on the situation in Algeria.

Moslem attacks on Jews were reported from Gafsa in Tunisia. Shops were sacked by the rioters. Troops were called out to restore order.

Three Algerian Moslem municipal councillors published an appeal warning against inciting propaganda.

Jewish and Moslem leaders in Algier called a meeting in an effort to quiet rising unrest by proclaiming their desire for order and affirming mutual understanding between the two peoples.
