The HICEM Jewish emigration association has extended its system of immigrant aid to Peru and sees the possibility for absorption of more immigrants in the near future, it was announced today by HIAS on the basis of advices from Paris.
The immigrant aid committee, in Peru has been reorganized. Committee members meet Jewish immigrants–who number about 30 a month–and, in cooperation with local Jewish organizations, assist them. The Jewish community of 1,500 is centered in Lima and Coloa.
