Renewed misgivings were felt today in Jewish circles that the statement of William Ormsby-Gore, Colonial Secretary, in the House of Commons did not totally eliminate the possibility of temporary suspension of Jewish immigration into Palestine.
He indicated in his statement that while the Government would not yield to Arab violence and intimidation, it would proceed “on the merits of the case.”
