A many-sided glimpse of what the Jews have done for Palestine is given in a special 22-page supplement on the Holy Land published by the Manchester Guardian Commercial.
Terming Palestine’s record of economic achievement “little short of phenomenal,” the supplement says that despite political difficulties and differences, commerce finds a way of struggling on.
“There can be no doubt that under orderly and peaceful conditions the march of progress in Palestine will continue,” says an editorial.
Palestine is regarded as a field for sound investment, says A. Gold-water, joint manager of the Palestine Corp. Ltd., in an article. Public issues aggregating over $25,000,000 have been underwritten in London for several institutions in Palestine, including a $2,500,000 loan to the Jewish Agency for Palestine and a $5,000,000 lean to the Tel Aviv municipality.
British insurance companies and certain English industrial concerns have also taken a substantial interest in Palestine by loans and investments, the article points out.
