Jewish restaurant owners are prohibited from employing German women under 45 years of age under an extension of the Nuremberg race and citizenship laws newly issued by the chief of German police. The original decrees forbid employment of “Aryan” women domestics under 45 in Jewish households.
The new order was issued in connection with permission given to Jews to open “ghetto restaurants” as an exception to the general prohibition on opening of new restaurants before April 1, 1938. Jews receive licenses on condition that they post signs limiting admittance to Jews. The licenses will hereafter state that employment of German women is forbidden.
