A Jewish nurse was killed and another gravely wounded in an ambush while on their way to the Government hospital in Jaffa for night duty tonight. Natia Fink was dead and Nechama Zedek in serious condition.

Earlier reports had said they were ambushed while leaving the hospital. An Arab was found dead of knife wounds on the seashore between Bait Vegan and Jaffa. Curfew was imposed on the city of Tiberias.

Speakers at an extraordinary meeting of the Jewish National Assembly declared that the Jews were losing confidence in the Government as a result of insufficient measures taken in dealing with disturbances. It was charged that the Government was not applying laws promulgated to halt the bloodshed. The speakers represented the views of widely divergent Zionist groups, including the laborite Histadruth, the right-wing Revisionists, the orthodox Mizrachi and the moderately right-wing Jewish State Party.
