Greek Dictator Voices Sympathy for Jews

Reassurances were tendered today by Greece’s new dictator, General John Metaxas, that the Greek government would continue “to nourish the same feeling of sympathy for Jewish citizens which has previously existed” and which the Premier has “personally always felt.

The statement was embodied in a message acknowledging greetings sent by Chief Rabbi Zvi Hirsch Koretz of Salonica and Mr. Gettegne, president of the Salonica Jewish Community.
