Troop reinforcements were called today to repulse Arabs who attacked the Agricultural Bank quarter of Tel Aviv and a police post between Jerusalem and Jaffa as disorders entered their twenty-fifth week.
In Tel Aviv, a police car which arrived to disperse the Arabs was also attacked before troops arrived on the scene.
The police post, about 40 miles from Jerusalem, was subjected to a heavy barrage of rifle fire. When the defenders had exhausted their ammunition, they sent an S.O.S. to Jerusalem for aid. Troops were despatched to the scene, who engaged and routed the rebels.
Four soldiers were injured when an army car overturned near Jerusalem.
An Arab band destroyed a number of huts at Tel Keisan, near Acre, which were the property of the John Garstang archaeological expedition of England. An Arab watchman was injured.
Rebel bands yesterday killed an Arab sergeant in an attack on the police station at El Bassa, in northeastern Palestine, near the Syrian frontier.
