Arabs Warn Tel Aviv Harbor Will Cause Further Outbreaks

SIGN UP FOR THE JTA DAILY BRIEFING

The Arab press launched a bitter campaign today against the newly-constructed jetty in Tel Aviv, predicting that its eventual completion as a harbor would be the cause of future outbreaks among Arabs. Utilization of Tel Aviv as a port brings it into direct competition with the predominantly Arab port city of Jaffa, where the recently ended general strike began six months ago.

Davar, Hebrew laborite daily, reported that the Arab Supreme Committee had started a drive to supply Arab bands still roving the Palestine hills with warm clothing and food.

Two Arabs were killed and two wounded in the engagement last Friday on the Acre-Safed road between rebels and British troops, it was officially reported today. A British officer and a private were slightly wounded.
