21% Drop in Reich Jewish Population Reported

The Jewish population in Germany has declined 21 per cent between the beginning of 1933 and July 1, 1936, according to a report by Dr. Michael Traub, director of the Palestine Foundation Fund in Germany, made public by the United Palestine Appeal and the Joint Distribution Committee.

The population dropped from 517,000 to about 405,000, the report said, including 14,000 ascribed to “natural decrease of population,” and 98,000 to emigration.
