Beaverbrook Paper Asks Suspension of Palestine Immigration

Lord Beaverbrook’s Evening Standard tonight demanded stoppage of Jewish immigration into Palestine while the Royal Commission of inquiry is in session. The commission is leaving on Nov. 5 to investigate recent disorders in the Holy Land.

In an editorial, the paper sharply attacked a proposal of Lord Melchett for mass migration of Jews to Palestine and Transjordan with the aid of the European nations. “Could any wilder project be imagined?” the Standard asked.
