One person was killed and twenty others injured in a clash yesterday between members of the anti-Semitic National Christian Party and adherents of the democratic National Peasants Party in the town of Vaslui.

General Gabriel Negrei, a member of the Peasants Party, was arrested and charged with firing the fatal shot. Gen. Negrei, who has been an ardent supporter of the democratic cause since his retirement from the army, said he fired in self defense when attacked.

Following the clash, anti-Semites demonstrated in Jassy, slightly injuring several Jews.
