Race prejudice and religious intolerance must be killed in thought and conversation before they crawl into business and politics, the Rov. Dr. Ralph W. Sockman, pastor of the Christ Methodist Episcopal Church, declared yesterday at the Sabbath service of Central Synagogue which marked the opening of its Ninetieth Anniversary celebration. “As out of the ancient Babylonian exile there was born a messianic passion,” so out of the present German oppression may the Jewish race generate a new sense of spiritual mission,” said Dr. Sockman.
