Johnson Named Vice-president of Guild for German Culture

The board of directors of the American Guild for German Cultural Freedom announced today the election of Dr. Alvin Johnson as vice-president and chairman of the executive committee at a meeting held at the New School for Social Research.

Other members of the board named to the executive are Dr. Frank Kingdon, Mrs. Sam Barlow and Samuel R. Wachtell. The guild was founded by Americans interested in maintaining German culture free of racial and religious prejudices. It has established a German Academy of Arts and Letters headed by Prof. Robert MacIver of Columbia University.
