Jews emigrating from Germany to Palestine and withdrawing capital in goods under the Germany-Palestine transfer agreement cannot be charged more for the transfer than stated in their German contracts, according to a court decision here.
Chief Magistrate Ralph B. Bodilly ordered Haavara, Palestine trustee office under the agreement, to repay $750 to an immigrant on the groun it had no right to appropriate the money on account of expenses. The office is obliged to shoulder costs not included in the contract, he decided.
