Poland Sounds France on Madagascar

Poland, casting about for likely outlets for her allegedly surplus Jewish population, has approached France on the possibilities in that connection of Madagascar, her protectorate off the southeast coast of Africa, it was reliably learned here today.

The French Government, following inquiries of its Madagascar officials is understood to have informed Poland that in view of climatic and other conditions, the island could absorb only a few hundred immigrants.

According to the advices, Madagascar is willing to admit that number of immigrants, but on condition that they are not restricted to Jews.
