The second half of the Palestine Symphony Orchestra’s first concert on Dec. 30, under the baton of Arturo Toscanini, will be broadcast to America, it was announced here yesterday by Bronislaw Huberman, well known violinist and founder of the orchestra, which comprises 65 refugee musicians from Germany.

Mr. Huberman told newspapermen that the noted maestro, who arrived last week by plane from Italy to conduct the first four concerts, was highly pleased with the orchestra’s achievements to date. Toscanini was quoted as being particularly gratified at the subscription list of 7,000 in Tel Aviv, which he said would be equivalent to 420,000 subscribers in New York.

Thanking the world press for its support of the orchestra, Mr. Huberman announced he would make no concert appearances at present since he did not wish in any way to interfere with the unique event of Toscanini’s appearance.

Mr. Huberman said Toscanini was deeply moved and impressed with the Jewish upbuilding of Palestine and particularly with the spirit prevailing in the Jewish colonies.
