The Rebel organ ABC yesterday coupled world Jewry and Soviet Russia as jointly responsible for the Spanish civil war. In an article captioned “When Israel Rules,” the paper declared:
“The poor, illiterate Spaniards are being misled by the Levys or the Samuels of New York, London and Paris.”
Charging that Spaniards were being slaughtered by Jews and their property destroyed by Jewish orders, the article continued:
“Spain is at the present time in a fight not only with Soviet Bolshevism, but also with world Jewry, which operates under instructions of a secret Jewish committee. The Jews, having obtained Russia, wish also to take Spain. The newspapers abroad are helping them because they are all owned by Jews.”
