Jewish critics today acclaimed “Schwer zu Sein a Yid,” (It is Hard to be a Jew), a play by the late Shalom Aleichem, the “Mark Twain of Yiddish literature, “which had its premiere last night in German translation at the Kultur Theatre. Leading Jews and several foreigners attended the performance.
