Palestine’s oranges may be excellent but they are not acceptable in exchange for Polish lumber, it developed today.
The Polish Government, negotiating with the Jewish Agency for Palestine a transfer agreement to enable Jewish immigrants to the Holy Land to withdraw part of their capital in the form of merchandise, decided that an orange-lumber exchange could not be included.
Such an exchange had previously been agreed to by the Government. Decision to withdraw on that point has temporarily snagged the negotiations which had been reported proceeding satisfactorily.
