Polish Officials Confer on Changing Shechita Law

With the newly enacted law curbing shechita already accounted a fiasco in official circles, conferences looking toward its modification are being held by the various ministries involved, it was learned today.

A special investigation by the Ministry of Agriculture, it was disclosed, has established that the law in practice has adversely affected not only the Jews but the general population as well. What form the modifications may take was not known.
