Senator Wagner Honored at Dinner for Services to Nation and Jews

About 1,000 persons attended a dinner and reception tonight for Senator Robert F. Wagner arranged by the American Jewish Congress at the Waldorf-Astoria in appreciation of his “notable services in behalf of the nation” and his “counsel and support in the solution of Jewish questions.”

Among those on the speakers’ list were Postmaster-General James A. Farley, bringing a message from President Roosevelt; Governor Lehman, by telephone from Albany; Government George H. Earle of Pennsylvania. Senator Robert J. Bulkley of Ohio, Mayor LaGuardia, James N. Rosenberg and Dr. Stephen S. Wise, presiding.
