Col. Adam Koc, founder and chief of the newly-organized Government political party, may be forced by some of his ultra-Nationalist followers to violent action against the millions of Polish Jews, Jewish circles here fear, the Havas News Agency reported.
Col. Koc’s original announcement, when he proclaimed formation of the all-inclusive political organization last week, came as something of an agreeable surprise to Jews here. At that time Col. Koc declared that there would be no pogroms, no violent anti-Semitic attacks, but that the Jews must limit their activities in accordance with Poland’s cultural and economic life.
Koc’s position was regarded as moderate as compared to that of his Lieutenant, Col. Boguslaw Miedzinski, who had given indications in the Gazetta Polska that serious trouble could be expected.
The Jewish press, however, has continued to point out the dangers that lie in formation of the new group. The Polish Nationalists are far from satisfied at the concessions made to their anti-Semitism and it is feared Col. Koc may be forced, in spite of himself, to give way further to these Jew-haters.
