Newspapers here gave prominent display to the Nazi deportation order served on Boris Smolar.

In an editorial on the Nazi action, the Daily Telegraph declares: “Correspondents trying to do their duty by ascertaining the facts are now liable to charges of espionage or ‘endangering the security of the Reich. ‘”
