Capital and labor united today against efforts to oust Jews from Belgium’s great diamond industry after fifteen Belgian Nazi dealers had sent the Government a memorandum demanding elimination of Jews.
The sending of the memorandum was revealed in a joint proclamation issued by the Association of Belgian Diamond Industrialists and the Union of Diamond Workers of Belgium, which said the Jews had helped to build the present high standard in the world’s diamond markets and declared the Jews were more important in the industry than the small group of Belgian Nazis.
