Raising of a swastika flag over the German Templar Bank today precipitated a disturbance that necessitated police action to end.

A large crowd, stung to fury at the unexpected sight of the Nazi banner unfurled in the heart of the all-Jewish city, rushed the building, hauled down the flag, trampled and burned it. Police rushed and dispersed the demonstrators.
