American Zionists’ demands that the forthcoming twentieth biennial World Zionist Congress be held in Washington instead of Switzerland as scheduled received the support today of the World Mizrachi Organization, religious Zionist group.
The Mizrachi executive formally requested the executive of the World Zionist Organization to shift the site of the congress from Zurich to the United States.
Sale of 130,000 shokolim, certificates entitling purchasers to vote for congress delegates, was announced here today. The Histadruth, Palestine general Jewish labor federation, accounted for 95,000 of the total.
