Polish Jewess is Author of China’s Best Seller

Author of China’s best-selling novel of the year is a Chinese lady named Ho-Ro-So, who was born Rosenthal, a Polish Jewess, it has been revealed here by a returned globe-trotting Yiddish poet who made the novelist’s acquaintance in Poking.

The poet is Mclech Ravitsch, of Warsaw. He relates that when he arrived in Poking, he was astounded to be greeted by Madame He-Re-So in Polish.

The novelist, author of the Chinese best-seller, “Love and Duty,” explained to the poet that she had studied in Paris twenty years ago and there married a Chinaman named He, who today is a well-known railroad engineer in his native land.

Madame Ho-Ro-Se, which is Rosenthal Chinafied, has written other popular novels in Chinese. Her latest has sold well over 500,000 copies in the Chinese edition and has also done surpassingly well the English and French translations.
