” JEWISH AUTHORITIES ARE NOW PREPARED TO ACCEPT PARTITION” OF PALESTINE ON CERTAIN CONDITIONS, THE COMMENTATOR, EASTERMAN, DECLARED TODAY IN AN ARTICLE IN THE DAILY HERALD.

THE TERMS OF JEWISH ACCEPTANCE, THE ARTICLE SAID, ARE INCLUSION OF THE NEW CITY SECTION OF JERUSALEM AND THE RUTTENBERG AND DEAD SEA CONCESSIONS IN THE JEWISH STATE, WITH THE NEGEV REGION UNDER BRITISH MANDATE OR DIVIDED BETWEEN ARABS AND JEWS.

THE CONDITIONS WERE STATED TO INCLUDE ALSO WITHDRAWAL OF THE PROPOSAL FOR BRITISH CONTROL OVER HAIFA, TIBERIAS AND ACRE AND THE PROPOSAL FOR A JEWISH SUBSIDY TO THE ARAB STATE, AND ALSO THE CONDITIONS THAT CONTROL OF JEWISH IMMIGRATION BE TRANSFERRED IMMEDIATELY TO THE JEWISH AGENCY FOR PALESTINE, THAT CUSTOMS HOUSES REMAIN UNDER JEWISH CONTROL AND THAT THE TEL AVIV PORT BE continued.
