AN ARAB CONFERENCE WILL BE HELD IN DAMASCUS, SYRIA, NEXT WEEK TO COUNTERACT THE EFFECTS OF THE WORLD ZIONIST CONGRESS, ARAB NEWSPAPERS REPORTED TODAY.

THE PROVISIONAL EXECUTIVE OF THE JEWISH AGENCY FOR PALESTINE ESTABLISHED TO FUNCTION WHILE THE CONGRESS IS IN SESSION, WHICH INCLUDES ISAAC BEN-ZVI, BERNARD JOSEPH AND FELIX ROSENBLUETH, MET TODAY WITH MOSHE SHERTOK, HEAD OF THE AGENCY’S POLITICAL DEPARTMENT, AND VISITED HIGH COMMISSIONER WAUCHOPE.

STRONG MILITARY FORCES ARE PATROLLING PALESTINE’S NORTHERN FRONTIERS DAY AND NIGHT, CHECKING TRAFFIC AND SEARCHING FOR ARMS. VIOLENCE AND SABOTAGE DIRECTED AGAINST THE PALESTINE ELECTRIC CORPORATION BROUGHT DOWN COLLECTIVE FINES ON TWO ARAB VILLAGES. DISTRICT COMMISSIONER HUGH MACKINTOSH FOOT FINED THE VILLAGE OF UMALFACH FOR AN ARMED ATTACK ON A SUPPLY WORKS OF THE CORPORATION, AND THE VILLAGE OF KASRA FOR WIRE-CUTTING.
