TWO JEWISH LEADERS ARRIVED HERE YESTERDAY FROM PALESTINE TO STUDY RESULTS OF THE POST-WAR TRANSFER OF GRECO-TURKISH POPULATIONS AND COLONIZATION OF REFUGEES IN THRACE AND MACEDONIA, OSTENSIBLY IN CONNECTION WITH THE PROJECTED TRANSFER OF ARABS FROM THE PROPOSED JEWISH STATE IN PALESTINE.

THE VISITORS ARE DR. JACOB THON, DIRECTOR OF THE PALESTINE LAND DEVELOPMENT COMPANY, AND A GERMAN JEWISH EXPERT, DR. KURT MENDELSOHN. THEIR VISIT IS ALSO BELIEVED TO BE CONNECTED WITH THE PLAN TO COLONIZE THE HULEH PLAIN IN PALESTINE, WHICH WAS RECENTLY ACQUIRED BY THE JEWISH NATIONAL FUND AND ON WHICH DRAINAGE OPERATIONS HAVE BEEN STARTED.

THEY WERE RECEIVED BY GOVERNOR KYRIMIS, WHO EXTENDED TO THEM ALL FACILITIES TO VISIT COLONIZATION CENTERS. DR. THON EXPRESSED ADMIRATION FOR THE WORK ACCOMPLISHED BY THE GREEK GOVERNMENT AND SAID PALESTINE COULD LEARN MUCH FROM IT WITH RESPECT TO THIS PROBLEM.
