HAJ AMIN EL HUSSEINI, FUGITIVE MUFTI OF JERUSALEM, TONIGHT WAS REPORTED PREPARING TO LEAVE FOR A NEW HAVEN IN ITALIAN LIBYA, THE HAVAS NEWS AGENCY REPORTED, ASSERTEDLY AT PREMIER MUSSOLINI’S INVITATION.

OFFICIAL QUARTERS HERE FORMALLY DENIED THAT THE MUFTI WAS LEAVING LEBANON AT THE REQUEST OF FRENCH AUTHORITIES. THEY SAID HE WAS NEGOTIATING WITH OFFICIALS OF LIBYA TO GO THERE AND PROBABLY WOULD LEAVE IN THE NEAR FUTURE FOR A TEMPORARY REFUGE IN THE LIBYAN COASTAL REGION.

THE ISLAMIC COUNCIL OF LEBANON ADOPTED A RESOLUTION PROTESTING AGAINST BRITISH “TERRORISM” AGAINST THE PALESTINE ARABS AND OFFERING THE ARABS IN THE HOLY LAND ASSISTANCE OF ANY KIND, PROVIDED IT IS LEGAL.
