A PETITION APPEALING FOR AMERICAN INTERCESSION BEHALF OF THE “DOWNTRODDEN” POLISH JEWS WAS PRESENTED TO SECRETARY OF STATE CORDELL HULL YESTERDAY BY A DELEGATION REPRESENTING THE JEWISH PEOPLE’S COMMITTEE. THE MEMORANDUM PROTESTED “THE STATE OF LAWLESSNESS PERMITTED AND ENCOURAGED BY THE POLISH GOVERNMENT.”

THE PRESENTATION OF THE APPEAL FOLLOWED A NATIONAL CONFERENCE OF THE COMMITTEE, ATTENDED BY 1,000 DELEGATES, AT WHICH SENATOR THOMAS OF UTAH DECLARED THAT “WHEN A NATION BE GINS KILLING ITS OWN, THAT NATION IS COMMITTING SUICIDE.” HE PLEADED FOR “BETTER CONSIDERATION OF MINORITIES.”
