The Fascist menace in England is not great but requires constant vigilance, Captain Austrian Hudson, Parliamentary Secretary of the Transport Ministry, told a meeting organized by the Jewish People’s Council against Fascism and Anti-Semitism.
Captain Hudson declared he was convinced that Fascism and anti-Semitism were deeply resented by 99 per cent of Members of Parliament. Regarding Fascism abroad, he stressed that the British Government was unable to interfere in the eternal affairs of other countries. He welcomed the mitigation of ex-Premier Octavian Goga’s anti-Jewish measures in Rumania and the Italian Government’s statement denying that it contemplated anti-Jewish restrictions.
