Britain Ousts Reich from Position As Biggest Seller to Palestine

Great Britain has regained its position as biggest seller of goods to Palestine from Germany, which last year captured first place for the first time in history.

Of total imports of L1,203,164 in February, 1938, The United Kingdom Supplied L245,348, or 20.4 percent, while Germany furnished L158,689, or 13.2 percent. The Reich was even nosed out of second place by Rumania by the margin of L7. The situation was much different in February, 1937, when, of total Palestine imports of L1,363,168, Germany held first place with L226,230, or 16.6 percent, and Britain followed with L198,979, or 14.6 percent.

The United States has dropped from fourth to fifth place as a seller to the Holy Land. In February, 1937, she supplied L106,340, or 7.8 percent, while a year later the figure was L63,569, or 5.3 percent.
