Reich Bans Purchase of Sperrmarks

Download PDF for this date

The purchase of Sperrmarks, which are almost the only means for the transfer of funds of Jewish emigrants, is prohibited for Jews and foreigners by a decree issued by the Foreign Exchange Central Office. The closing of the Sperrmark applies also to “Aryan” emigrants, but provision is made for allowing exceptions for them.
