Download PDF for this date

Charged with illegally crossing the frontier, 30 Austrian refugees were arrested on Friday and Saturday, it was learned here today, despite the fact that they had registered with the refugee committee. Twelve others, among them two doctors, were arrested Tuesday, although application for extension of expired residence permits were submitted to the authorities by the committee. The measures were taken in view of the increased influx of refugees. All those arrested have been supported by relatives and the refugee committee and were in no danger of becoming a public Burden.
