Compton Mackenzie, well-known novelist, condemned Nazism at an Anglo-Palestine Club meeting yesterday as a “retrogressive force” and a surrender to the worst impulse of man. “The horrible humiliations against the Jews,” he said, ” are of a type of savage, bestial bullying taking us back to the dark ages. Sane, decent people are horrified at what has taken place in the 20 years following the war.”
