Only 281 Jews Entered South Africa in First Half of 1938

Permanent residence permits for only three Austrian Jewish married men, three married women and one child have been granted since April 1, it was announced here today by Interior Minister Stuttaford. Mr. Stuttaford said a total of only 281 Jews entered the country in the first six months of the year.
