Secretary of State Cordell Hull stated at his press conference today that expansion of the intergovernmental refugee committee’s policy to include italian refugees would be a question for all members to decide, not this country alone, and the conference at London was making an investigation of all essential facts.
Asked about the Italian decree for expulsion of post-war Jewish immigrants, Mr. Hull stated his belief that no one had any intimation of it before it was issued. He said he had no advices on how many americans were involved, but presumably few in any event.
