The Education Ministry issued a circular today banning textbooks by 114 Jewish authors in Italian schools. Meanwhile, the Fascist Grand Council met and was expected to adopt a series of sweeping anti-Jewish measures.

Incomplete results of the recent census reveal the Jewish population of Italy totals 70,000, it was announced. the figure is expected to be exceeded when the final results are known.
