Sweden Urged to Relax Curbs on Entry of Refugees

A more liberal policy on admission of refugees was urged upon the Swedish Government today by a group of 130 prominent persons, including the Archbishop of Upsala and Nils Widner, Pastor Primarius of Stockholm. A petition signed by the group recommended granting of more landing, residential and labor permits, and creation of possibilities for temporary refuge and training for overseas emigration. The petition reminded the Government of the pledges given at the Evian Refugee Conference by Sweden’s representatives
