The movement against closing of Palestine’s doors reached its climax tonight when thousands gathered at Balfour day rallies throughout the country to hear distinguished speakers appeal and to appeal for American intercession with Britain. In New York, a rally was held at Mecca Temple, with provisions made for an overflow meeting outside. Scheduled speakers were Governor Lehman and Representative Hamilton Fish.
