The Archbishop of Canterbury, Cardinal Hinsley and Rev. John Scott Lidgett, president of the United Methodist Church, issued a joint statement today deploring the prevalence of anti-Jewish feeling in East London and asserting that racial hatred and discrimination were contrary to the spirit and the teachings of Christ.
