A special birthday prayer for President Roosevelt, in recognition of his “superb leadership and his deep-rooted love for all humanity,” will be read on Saturday in 70 synagogues throughout the country affiliated with the National Council of Young Israel, it was announced today. The prayer, a copy of which was sent on parchment to the President, is based on the prayer generally used at orthodox services for kings and other heads of governments.
