Roger N. Baldwin, director of the American Civil Liberties Union, revealed today at a luncheon of the union in Town Hall that “only two weeks ago I wrote to Father Coughlin in connection with his case and I have even written to Fritz Kuhn” in regard to their free speech rights.
Quincy Howe, chairman of the union’s council for freedom from censorship, declared that the council had been studying the Coughlin situation arising from his being barred from Station YMCA for failing to submit an advance copy of his script.
